Continue
Continue is a leading open-source AI code assistant extension with deep support for both VS Code and JetBrains IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, GoLand, etc.). It allows you to seamlessly configure custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints to provide inline intelligent code autocomplete (Tab) and deep sidebar chat.

Install the Continue Extension
Choose according to your primary IDE:
- In VS Code, press Cmd + Shift + X (Windows: Ctrl + Shift + X) to open the Extensions marketplace;
- Search for
Continue(published by Continue) and click Install.
- Open IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, or GoLand;
- Go to Settings / Preferences (macOS: Cmd + , / Windows: Ctrl + Alt + S) ➔ Plugins;
- In the Marketplace tab, search for
Continue, click Install, and restart the IDE when prompted.
Open the Configuration File
- After installation, click the Continue icon in the editor sidebar to open the panel;
- Click the gear settings icon ⚙️ at the bottom of the panel, and Continue will automatically open your local configuration file (located at
~/.continue/config.jsonor~/.continue/config.yaml).
Add OpenRely Model Configuration
Add your dedicated OpenRely model configurations to the models list:

Start AI-Assisted Programming
After saving the configuration file, Continue will reload automatically in real time:
- Tab Autocomplete: Type code normally in the editor and press Tab to accept inline completion suggestions with one click;
- Sidebar Chat: Press Cmd + L (Windows: Ctrl + L) to ask questions about selected code;
- In-place Edit: Press Cmd + I (Windows: Ctrl + I) to generate refactoring suggestions and modification plans directly in place.
