Cline
Cline is an open-source autonomous coding agent running in VS Code. It not only deeply understands project structures, but also autonomously creates/edits multiple files, executes tests and commands in the integrated terminal, and extends toolchains via the MCP protocol. Connect to the OpenRely API to enjoy a fully automated pair programming experience in VS Code.
🔑 Prerequisites
sk-...🚀 Steps
Install the Cline Extension
- Open VS Code (or compatible editors like Cursor, VSCodium, etc.);
- Go to the Extensions marketplace on the left sidebar using the shortcut Cmd + Shift + X (Windows: Ctrl + Shift + X);

Configure OpenRely Provider Settings
Cline natively supports multiple model protocols. We recommend selecting the OpenAI Compatible mode to connect to OpenRely:
| Configuration | Recommended Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| API Provider | OpenAI Compatible | Provides maximum model flexibility and compatibility |
| Base URL | https://api.openrely.ai/v1 | Must include /v1, do not add trailing slashes |
| API Key | sk-... | Dedicated access token created in the OpenRely Console |
| Model ID | claude or gpt | Enter the desired model identifier (e.g., claude, deepseek, etc.) |
[!TIP] Anthropic Native Protocol Alternative: You can also set API Provider to
Anthropic, expand advanced settings, enable custom endpoints, and set the Base URL tohttps://api.openrely.ai/v1. It will work completely seamlessly.
- Once configured, click Done at the bottom of the panel to save your settings.
Start Autonomous Programming Tasks
Return to the Cline chat sidebar and enter a challenging engineering prompt, for example:
请为当前项目编写一套完整的单元测试,并自动运行测试确保全部通过Cline will execute through the following autonomous closed loop:
- Analyze Project: Traverse and read code directories;
- Generate Code: Create test files and write assertions;
- Run Terminal: Execute test commands in the integrated terminal and capture console output;
- Autonomous Self-healing: If tests fail, analyze the error root cause and automatically fix source code until all tests pass.
